The Centre of Policy Studies runs several modelling courses each year. The Practical GE Modelling Course teaches you
how to use GEMPACK and how to run an important GE model. There are also Dynamic and Regional CGE Modelling Courses, designed for more experienced
modellers.
GEMPACK-L Mailing List is designed to let GEMPACK users communicate amongst themselves, sharing information, tips, etc.
The GEMPACK developers occasionally make announcements on it (new releases, bugs, courses, etc). Feel free to join the list.
CoPS Archive contains many examples of models and databases.
ORANI-G model. Source code, documentation, and other material relating to the celebrated ORANI-G model, a useful example
of a real-world GEMPACK application.
Solving intertemporal models. Download some fully intertemporal (rational expectations) models implemented and solved
using GEMPACK, including the TABLO and data files for ORANI-INT -- an intertemporal version of the ORANI model.
Quotas. It is possible to model quotas (including tariff rate quotas) explicitly via GEMPACK. [Other inequalities can
be modelled explicitly via GEMPACK using the same techniques.]
RunDynam. Windows software RunDynam for running recursive dynamic models (including MONASH) is
available. This software can be used with any recursive dynamic model which is implemented and solved using GEMPACK. Demonstration versions of RunDynam and RunMONASH are available.
AnalyseGE. Windows software AnalyseGE helps modellers analyse their simulation results.
RunGEM. Windows software RunGEM makes it very easy to carry out Systematic Sensitivity
Analysis with any model implemented using GEMPACK. For example, you can easily see how sensitive are the results of any simulation with
respect to variations in the values of the Armington elasticities in your model.
Find out how you can transfer data between GAMS and GEMPACK.
MGE2GP. If you are familiar with Tom Rutherford's MPSGE language for writing down GE models, there is a program
MGE2GP which translates these models and lets you solve them using GEMPACK.
The Crusoe Suite. A great resource for teaching or experimentation with GEMPACK. The Crusoe Suite includes executable
versions of the ORANI-G and CRUSOE single-country models (which can be run without a GEMPACK license) together with a 10-sector single-country
database for each of 30 regions of the world (adapted from the GTAP database). With full source code and comprehensive documentation of the
ORANI-G model, of which the CRUSOE model is a simplified version.
Custom Software Development is available from GEMPACK and the Centre of Policy Studies. For example, model-specific Windows interfaces have been
constructed for the GTAP and GTEM models.
Email GEMPACK to explore similar possibilities.
When you report results obtained using GEMPACK, we ask you to acknowledge this by including a reference to GEMPACK in
your paper or report. This acknowledgement is a condition of all GEMPACK licences.
