The Centre of Policy Studies Knowledgebase

This website contains around 750 web pages relating to the work of the Centre of Policy Studies (CoPS), a group of CGE modellers based at Victoria University, Melbourne. The material includes:

• Many downloadable Working Papers.
• Extensive documentation of the GEMPACK software used for solving CGE models, developed at the unit.
• Details of CGE models constructed and used at CoPS.
• An archive of technical notes, presentations, articles, student theses, and databases.
• Details of training courses in CGE modelling.
• Sources for books published from CoPS.

Contract research and consulting

Latest CoPS news

• 23rd October 2026: CoPS hosted the National CGE Modelling Workshop in Melbourne, bringing together researchers, consultants and policy practitioners from across Australia to discuss the latest developments in CGE modelling and its application to real-world policy challenges. Keynote speaker Professor Tom Kompas (University of Melbourne) was followed by presenters from the State Treasuries of NSW, WA and Tasmania; from ANU, Victoria University and the University of Melbourne; and from several consulting groups.
