Command Line and File Association

ViewHAR will accept a filename as a command line parameter. This means that:

You could enter "ViewHAR data.har" from the command prompt.

If you set up the Windows File Association system to link the HAR file extension to ViewHAR, clicking on a HAR file will open it in ViewHAR.

It is also possible to specify a particular header following the filename, eg, you could enter from the command line:

ViewHAR data.har VXMD

In this case ViewHAR would read and display only the header VXMD. This might be useful for HAR files which are too big to read in full -- it may still be possible to view headers one at a time.

See Not enough memory to load array.

Two special forms are used by programs like RunDynam or WinGEM:

You can type:

ViewHAR %ThisFolder

to cause ViewHAR to open with its current folder set to ThisFolder.  So, if you then chose File...Open, the contents of ThisFolder would be displayed.

You can also type:

ViewHAR #ThisFile

to open ThisFile in read-only mode.
