Un-Omitting Variables

You can safely not omit variables which are omitted in the supplied GTAP.STI file. Of course, this makes your model bigger. You need GEMPACK, Version 7 or later.

Edit GTAP.STI and place an exclamation mark ! in column 1 of the line where the omitted variable is mentioned. From DOS, type TABLO<GTAP.STI, then LTG GTAP.

To see the new variable on the results page, youll need to include it in the file GTAP.MAP. This contains lists of variables and headers. Make up any new unique header for the un-omitted variable.

Youll need to add the new variable to the closure files GTAP.EXP, GTAP.CLP and GTAP.CLG.

You should now be able to use RunGTAP as normal. RunGTAP will delete some files which depend on GTAP.EXE (such as VERSION.SLI) but these will be recreated the next time you run a simulation.
