Create New Mapping or Edit Mapping

The Aggregation...Create new mapping lets you make a new mapping between two existing sets. If you want to aggregate an existing set to a new set that does not yet exist, you will need to use Edit...Create new set first.

At the top of the Aggregation...Create new mapping dialog you must first specify:

Name of new mapping (max 12 letters).

Source set.

Destination set.

Below are 3 lists:

At left, the elements of the source set.

At right, the elements of the destination set.

In the middle, the mapping between source and destination.

To start with, ViewHAR creates an arbitrary mapping. You can alter this by clicking alternately on the middle and right lists.

Click on the left hand list to select an element of the source set -- the corresponding element in the destination set will be highlighted in the right hand list. Then click on the right hand list to choose which element in the destination set the selected source element will be mapped to.

You can also paste in a mapping from the clipboard. The following formats are acceptable:

A column of spreadsheet cells, containing either numbers or set element names.

Lines of text, each one containing either a number or a set element names.

Click Create when you are done.

ViewHAR warns you if the new mapping is not onto.

ViewHAR adds the new mapping to its own internal library (which lasts for the current session) and also stores it to the current HAR file. You can choose whether it is stored as an integer or as a string vector.

The Aggregation...Edit mapping command works in a similar way. You must first select the integer or string header corresponding to the mapping.
