Opening Several Files at Once

ViewSOL offers several ways to open several files with a single command.

In the File..Open dialog you can select multiple files using Shift-Click and Ctrl-Click.

Within File Manager or Explorer, you can select multiple files (again using Shift-Click and Ctrl-Click) and drag them onto an open ViewSOL window.

Under Win95, if you have ViewSOL.EXE on your DOS path, you can type, say:

ViewSOL sim*.sl4

to open a set of solution files.

ViewSOL always opens the files in alphabetical order.

Another, specialized, way to open several solutions at once is to use Time Series Mode. In this case ViewSOL assumes that the successive solutions correspond to a sequence of years.

You can also create a text file (suffixed SEQ) listing the names of solutions. Then, from the command-lineDOS, type:

ViewSOL somesims.seq

to open the solution files listed in somesims.seq. See the end of the topic on SEQ files.
