Saving files in Excel format

ViewHAR can save the whole file (or just the selected header ) in XLS (Excel97) format. However, ViewHAR is not able to read such files. Excel sheets are limited to a certain number of rows and columns, so huge arrays will not be entirely saved.

Note: the command line utility XLS2HEAD will extract a single matrix from an XLS file and store it in a new HAR file. It is not supplied with GEMPACK but is part of the free "bundle" that you can download.
