Replicating WinGEM simulations in RunGTAP

Within RunGTAP, all versions make use of the same economic model, as defined by the files GTAB.TAB and GTAP.STI in the RunGTAP directory. You must be able to replicate your WinGEM simulations using these files (without changing them at all).

The next question is, whether you can extend an existing version. This will usually be true if your WinGEM experiment uses the same level of aggregation as an existing version. If so, all you have to do is create a new EXP file for that version. You could do this by starting up RunGTAP and at the same time opening your CMF file in NotePad or a similar editor. Paste exogenous and rest endogenous statements from the CMF into the RunGTAP Closure page. Similarly, paste shock statements from the CMF into the RunGTAP Shocks page. The first line of both Shocks and Closure sections should be an informative comment. Edit the experiment description on the Solve page and solve the model. If and when it works properly, save your experiment as an EXP file. You may also need to add text files of shocks (suffixed PRE) or parameters HAR files (suffixed PRM) to the version subdirectory. XSET and similar statements must be added to the file CMFSTART.

If you want to use a new aggregation you will have to create a new version.
