Viewing the Database and Other Files

The View menu item allows you to examine a number of files used or produced by RunGTAP:

The Base data, showing the data base prior to the experiment. This is divided into:

•The Core data file of flows.

•GTAPView output.

•Tax Rates output.

•Both general and partial equilibrium elasticities.

Updated data, showing values after the last experiment. This is available only after a simulation has been completed. It is divided into:

•The Core data file of flows.

•GTAPView output.

•Tax Rates output.

•DECOMP output.

•GTAPVol output.

As well there is:

•The Sets file and also Subsets and Variables information.

•The Parameters file.

•The TAB files.

•The main Log file (available only after a simulation has been completed).

•Accuracy Summary (available only after some simulations have been completed).

•The CMFSTART file.

•An arbitrary text file.

•Results using ViewSOL or ViewHAR (available only after simulation is complete).

Most of these files (except TAB, Log and Text) are in the special Header Array format used by GEMPACK. If you choose to look at them, RunGTAP will launch the GEMPACK program ViewHAR in its own window.

The text files may be viewed in the GEMPACK editor TABmate, or in a simpler text file viewer which is part of RunGTAP. It allows you to modify the parameters file and the arbitrary text file; otherwise it is read only (unless you are in Developer mode). See also using TABmate as your text editor.
